Objective of the project is to design and synthesize low cost and efficient organic semiconductors that contain a nitrogen atom in their heterocyclic structure and to fabricate efficient organic electronic devices such as organic light emitting diodes based on the synthesized compounds.
Project funding:
Intergovernmental programme administrated by Research Council of Lithuania: Lithuania–Ukraine
Project results:
Several series of new heterocyclic nitrogen-containing compounds were synthesised and characterized by different techniques. Selected compounds were tested as hosts in green and blue phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes. The best fabricated device demonstrated pure emission of a phosphorescent emitter and showed external quantum efficiency of 8.8% and brightness of 8700 cd/m2 at applied voltage of 10 V.
