Project description:

Quinone methides are a group of highly reactive compounds whose formation and / or decomposition products are the main guarantors of the efficacy of many drugs (anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory). Nitro-containing o-quinone methides are chemically very active and therefore little investigated compounds. Preliminary studies have shown the ability of these compounds to bind to alcohols and amines, which could show their high ability to form conjugates that can act cytotoxically and be potential drugs, but it is necessary to study the conditions, regulation and interactions of both synthesis and metabolism with cellular biological molecules. The research carried out during the project will allow targeted search for intracellular biological targets of quinone methides, optimize the chemical structure of synthesized derivatives, and predict biological activity in vitro and in vivo in further studies.
