Upgrading the laboratory R&D base for environmental engineering and nanotechnology research by purchasing a scanning electron microscope

Project no.: 10-093-K-0066

Project description:

The project plans to acquire a scanning electron microscope (SEM) for the morphological and elemental analysis of solid particles, surfaces, nanostructures, and biological samples. This investment aims to address the lack of infrastructure, which limits the conduct of high-level research in air quality, environmental health, and materials engineering, and also reduces the competitiveness of Lithuanian research institutions in international R&D projects.

Project funding:

The project is financed with the funds of the Economic Recovery and Resilience Facility under the “New Generation Lithuania” plan and with the funds of the state budget of the Republic of Lithuania.

Project results:

The results of the project include the acquisition, installation, and adaptation of a scanning electron microscope equipped with analytical software packages for research at the Faculty of Chemical Technology at Kaunas University of Technology.
