Project description:

This project aims at complex combination of low temperature plasma, photocatalysis, electrostatic precipitation, and catalytic filtration processes to achieve highly efficient air cleaning technology. This complex and synergetic technology will be researched mathematically (computational fluid dynamics modelling) as well as experimentally using experiment planning techniques, increasing reliability of obtained results. The establishment of the most important relationships between operational parameters and real-world testing of the developed system will be followed by optimization and tuning steps implementing technological, environmental and economical modelling of the system. The efficiency of the developed system will be tested by complex analytical techniques, including offline gas chromatography with time of flight mass spectrometry, direct mass spectrometry, particle sizing spectrometers and others. The above steps will allow shifting the existing conceptual processes from the third level of technology readiness level to the fifth level – prototype tested under real-world conditions. The created technology will be further developed after the completion of the project towards commercialization in the framework of startup activities established by the scientific group.
