The project aims to develop a technology for innovative, high-calorie and high-protein food products intended for consumption under conditions of extreme physical exertion and negative energy balance. The solution is tailored to the needs of soldiers, hikers, athletes and individuals with specific dietary needs or limited access to nutritionally complete food.
During the project, gel-based food products in three different flavours will be developed. The products will not require special preparation and will be suitable for consumption in situations where access to conventional food is limited. They will have high energy and nutritional value, providing 340–430 kcal and 30–33 g of protein per 100 g of product, and will also be enriched with vitamins.
The ultimate objective of the project is to create the conditions for the commercialisation of high-nutritional-value products that can help ensure the intake of energy and essential nutrients during short yet critical periods when access to nutritionally complete food is not available.
