A prototype of sustainable higher value antimicrobial properties feddstock (bio)technology (SUSFEETECH)

Project description:

The goal of the project SUSFEETECH is to demonstrate the effect of the developed feedstock prototype on agricultural animals with metagenomic and in situ studies, thereby, aiming for more effective commercialization of the safe feedstock with a special focus on mycotoxin reduction strategy during the processing of the grain products. The level of the preparation for the commercialization of the SUSFEETECH results is 7, i.e.
the existing knowledge will be applied, simulating real conditions – a demonstration of the prototype (trial version) will be carried out. Although feed raw materials have been developed. According to the standard in vitro and in vivo indicators, they have shown a positive effect on the productivity and health of agricultural animals, but their mechanism of action has not been fully elucidated. To achieve this goal, metagenomic studies of changes in the gastrointestinal tract will be performed in situ and test animals fed with feed raw materials created and produced under real production conditions. The latter will allow for a more detailed explanation of the positive mechanism of action of the developed products and will give more competitiveness to the developed products, introducing them to local and international markets. The characteristics of SUSFEETECH are effective technology based on the principles of safe and sustainable production, i.e. safe and effective valorization of by-products of the food industry and detailed scientific substantiation of the working mechanism of the developed products, which creates conditions for obtaining real economic benefits for agriculture and the general public. The implementation of these prototypes in production and their effective commercialization would contribute to solving the problems of climate change reduction, as well as creating a niche for the integration of promising scientists in agricultural development – presenting this field as a new opportunity to ensure animal health and productivity, based on the principles of sustainable production and deep scientific research.
