3D Hole Transporting Materials for Efficient and Stable Perovskite Solar Cells (3D HTM)

Project no.: P-MIP-19-91

Project description:

During this project new crosslinkable hole transporting materials will be created which will not only efficiently extract and transport charges, but also shield the perovskite layer from degradation by forming a protective polymeric layer over the perovskite absorber. This will enable the development of stable perovskite solar cell. Additionally, such organic semiconductors are attractive not only for photovoltaics, but also for the development of other low-cost, high-performance optoelectronic devices such as light emitting diodes, phototransistors, photocells, and so on, so their demand is guaranteed.

Project funding:

Projects funded by the Research Council of Lithuania (RCL), Projects carried out by researchers’ teams

Project results:

During the reporting period fluorene- and carbazole-based organic molecules, which not only efficiently extract and transport charges, but also can yield 3D insoluble polymers. The optical, thermal and electrical properties of the synthesized organic semiconductors were investigated to evaluate the suitability of these compounds for application as hole transporting materials in perovskite solar cells with both n-i-p and p-i-n architecture.
Active involvement of international partners led to design, construction and testing of perovskite SCs in which new organic semiconductors were used as hole transporting materials.
